These services are available on any protocol as per requirement of the Service Provider. HTTP and SMTP are used for a small number of SMS sending, while SMPP (Short Message Peer to Peer) is used for large amount of SMS uses. These services are also available as Two Way SMS Services on various Short Codes.

Flash SMS services
A Flash SMS appears directly on the phone's screen, instead of the 'Inbox'. It’s a useful alternative to normal SMS when you want to catch the recipient attention immediately. The recipient has the option of 'Saving' the Flash SMS to his 'Inbox'.
